 | Message from the PresidentWelcome to the Blackrock College Union Website. It is a great honour for me to represent all my fellow Rock men as President of the Blackrock College Union for the academic year 2019/2020. This year we expect the total membership numbers to exceed 8000 making the Blackrock College Union the largest Alumnus in Europe. This continued growth in our membership base will be driven by the introduction and implementation of our new Class Ambassador Programme. Class Ambassadors from each year will be reaching out to non members of the Union and will include all past pupils from as many years as possible. Inclusion is a strong theme we will be focusing on during the year ahead. Our core principles remain firmly focused on : Fostering continued contact between Past Pupils and the College and between Past Pupils of the College. Supporting the Traditional Ethos of the College. Carrying out Charitable Works. Supporting the College in its various activities, both academic and non-academic. Fostering a Spirit of Support between Past Pupils for Each Other. We have many events lined up over the next year so please keep note of the key dates in the Union Calendar, notably the Class Reunion Dinners, The Annual Dinner, Business Lunch, Annual Retreat and the Golf Outings. Demand for these events has never been greater so please book early to avoid disappointment. Our Global Reach continues to grow and we will host an Annual Dinner this November again in New York and a Business Lunch in London next February. We have a busy year ahead so I would like to Thank the Union Committee and also Brigid O’Byrne, in the Union Office, for all their hard work and dedication in Supporting the Union Activities and all the Members. Our Union is for all Blackrock College Past Pupils so please get involved in any way you would like and I hope to meet many of you over the next 12 months at one of the many Union Events.
